The 95th Oscar Awards night ended successfully without anyone being “slapped” like last year.

Everything Everywhere All At Once closed the award-winning night with the Academy Award for Best Picture.

After winning the Oscar in the last category, Everything Everywhere All at Once won a total of 7 out of 11 nominations.

Not surprisingly, Michelle Yeoh is the 95th Best Actress Oscar. With this win, Michelle Yeoh becomes the first Asian woman to win the Best Actress award.

Michelle Yeoh is also the second woman of color to win the Best Actress award in Oscar history.

This is also her first Oscar nomination. In the movie Everything Everywhere All at Once, Michelle Yeoh transforms into a Chinese-American laundromat owner.

Michelle Yeoh is 60 years old this year. She started acting in Hong Kong action films in the 1990s and made her mark in Hollywood when she was cast as the first Chinese-born Bond Girl in the 1997 James Bond series Tomorrow Never Dies, alongside actor Pierce Brosnan.

Brendan Fraser won his first Academy Award for his portrayal of a 270kg gay man in The Whale, the best actor award.

The role marks the actor’s return to the big screen after 9 years of not playing the main role. Once the star of big movies like George of the Jungle and the action trilogy The Mummy, Fraser has once withdrawn from the limelight due to injuries while performing dangerous stunts.

Overwhelmingly triumphant, Everything Everywhere All at Once won their sixth Academy Award for Best Director, for the duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert.

The director duo has overcome many veteran names, including director Steven Spielberg with the film The Fabelmans. Thus, Steven Spielberg has missed the opportunity to become the oldest person to win the award in this category (76 years old).

“Multiverse” won multiple awards. Everything Everywhere All At Once won its 5th Academy Award for Best Editing. “This is my second film. It’s crazy,” said Paul Rogers upon accepting the award.

Only 6 more prizes left before the awards night ends. It seems The Banshees of Inisherin is having a stormy night with 9 nominations but no awards.

The audience at the awards ceremony almost burst into tears when Naatu Naatu from RRR was named the award for Best Original Soundtrack Song. It is the first song from an Indian film nominated in this category and the first to win.

Top Gun: Maverick wins Best Sound. Probably thanks to the sound of jet engines.

Women Talking won the award for Best Adapted Screenplay, adapted from the novel of the same name by Miriam Toews.

3rd Academy Award for Everything Everywhere All at Once in the category of Best Original Screenplay. Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert co-wrote the script. In her acceptance speech, Scheinert thanked past teachers for “making me less stupid”.

The epic comedy-drama Babylon is officially empty-handed at the Oscars 2023. Babylon was nominated in the following categories: Original Soundtrack (Winners All Quiet on the Western Front), Production Design (All Quiet on the Western Front) Western Front won), and Costume Design (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever won).

Avatar: The Way of Water won the award for Best Visual Effects. Contrary to expectations from the inherent reputation of the brand and director James Cameron, this year Avatar received only 4 nominations.

Two more wins for All Quiet on the Western Front for Best Production Design and Best Original Score.

All Quiet on the Western Front won Best Foreign Language Film. Previously, the war film won the category of Best Cinematography.

The Elephant Whisperer won Best Documentary Short.

The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse won Best Animated Short, based on the children’s book of the same name.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever won the award for Outstanding Costume Design.

The Best Makeup and Hairstyling award went to the drama The Whale.

The film’s makeup team transformed Brendan Fraser (who was nominated for the Best Actor award for his role in this film) into a completely different person without the need for a lot of prosthetics on his face.

This year’s Oscars screened a commercial for Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid.

Disney, the company that owns ABC, invited stars Halle Bailey and Melissa McCarthy to introduce the film, which is scheduled to be released on May 26, shortly after announcing the award for Best Live Short Film.

Until 2008, the Academy didn’t even allow movies to buy ads on awards night television.

This advertising ban was introduced in 1953, in order to maintain the integrity of the prize and avoid conflicts of interest. When this ban was lifted, the Academy insisted that it could only advertise unreleased films.
